Obama Picks Top Notch (no pun intended) Porn Lawyer as Deputy Attorney General// ick is all I have to say…

A friend of marriage and family? Guess again...That's right, he's bff's with Playboy, Penthouse and the ACLU, but Obama picked him anyway. I guess they must have similar values.

Our lovely new, doesn’t-have-the-country’s-best-interest-in-mind-or-he-wouldn’t-have-picked-this-perv-as-general, President, has in fact picked someone who could very well be practically a porn king himself, to be our fabulous country’s attorney general. Smooth move right? After all, he worked for Playboy and the ACLU… kind of neck and neck for the amount of sleaze associated with these “organizations” don’t you think? Not what I would want my professional resume to consist of.  I would venture to say that his morals might be (are definitely) a little loose, his legal perspectives a little skewed and our children more in danger because of him, but that’s just my opinion. Here’s the low down on David Ogden, and you can decide for yourself.

CHICAGO, February 4, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – President Obama has made a major mistake and put America’s families at risk by selecting David Ogden to become Deputy Attorney General, says Fidelis, a pro-family organization.

“David Ogden is a hired gun from Playboy and ACLU. He can’t run from his long record of opposing common sense laws protecting families, women, and children.  The United States Senate has a responsibility to the American people to insure that Mr. Ogden’s full record is fully reviewed before any vote on his nomination” said Brian Burch, President of Fidelis.

“Ogden’s record is nothing short of obscene. He has represented Playboy Enterprises in multiple cases, Penthouse Magazine, the ACLU, and the largest distributor of hard-core pornography videos.  He has opposed filters on library computers protecting children from Internet smut, and successfully defended the right of pornographers to produce material with underage children.”

“David Ogden has collected checks from Playboy and Penthouse to fight any attempts to establish filters on federally-funded public libraries. Ogden even sued the federal government in an attempt to publish Braille versions of Playboy magazine – at taxpayer expense, of course,” said Burch.

As a lawyer in private practice, Ogden has argued for an unlimited abortion license, gays in the military, and has urged courts to treat traditional definitions of marriage as a social prejudice.

“A vast majority of Americans support parental notification before a minor’s abortion and protecting kids from Internet pornography in our libraries,” continued Burch.  “Yet David Ogden has fought tooth and nail against these common sense laws protecting our children from harm. At a time when America’s families are under increasing assault, Mr. Ogden is a dangerous choice for a position whose responsibilities include the enforcement of our nation’s laws. “

**Ok everyone, it’s time to write your Senators and express your outrage at the potential of this guy getting anywhere near this Attorney General position. Let’s flood their in boxes and voice mail boxes. It is our right!!!! See the link below.

  1. And with just a few weeks in office, it has to be some sort of Presidential record or something. It’s a reflection of the types of people that Obama wants to associate with and the types of things he values. It’s really scary.

  2. How nonsensical can you get! One of the basics of our system of law is that ALL defendants are entitled to a good defense. A good defense requires a lawyer. A lawyer that puts that principle at the top of his priority list for his practice is the kind of lawyer the US needs to hire.

Furthermore, to put the ACLU in the same basket as pornographers is ridiculous and makes you look a fool. You need to investigate for yourself what the ACLU actually does. You’ll find that it does a little that you disagree with and a whole bunch that you are glad gets done.

  3. djcnor,

Nah, I don’t think you’ll ever convince me that we’d be in a pinch with out the ACLU. They make a mess out of things and I’m not the only one who thinks that way. I totally agree with you that everyone is entitled to a defense lawyer, along with being entitled to their own opinion, which I certainly am here, since this is my blog. However, that’s not the problem. I just wonder about the types of people who actually defend that filth, that’s all. You sound like a defensive porn fan, so if you’re looking for support on that, this is the wrong blog. It’s really sad that you obviously don’t see the benefit of protecting marriages and families and that this Ogden guy isn’t likely to do that, in fact, he seems to be in favor of everything destructive to those institutions.

So back to the defense lawyer comment, so, yeah, he’s just doing his job, but he has to actually think up all of those defenses and be sly and cunning and convincing….I am inclined to believe, and psychology will support the fact that after contact with stuff like porn, or sitting around all day dreaming up reasons to convince the court and jury how fabulous it all is and how good for society is it, that you would start to believe all of that garbage yourself. You can’t “defend” pornography, and associate with the leaders in the Porn industry day after day, year after year, and have it NOT affect you. That’s insane!!!!!!

Defending a granny who got run over by a city bus is hardly the same thing as defending the people and organizations on Ogden’s resume. Sorry, but I’m not impressed.

  4. Actually, I’m no porn fan at all. I’m a feminist who thinks the making of porn involves the abuse those who act in it.

As for the ACLU. Go ahead. Look up the full list of the cases it has taken up recently, not just the publicized ones. You’ll see that what I said is true.

And actually, being a lawyer involves being able to make that separation, just as being a doctor means giving everyone the same quality treatment, regardless of your opinions of their lifestyle decisions that might have affected them getting the disease and regardless of their character.

  5. I agree with djcnor – everyone is entitled to legal defense. I just don’t agree that Ogden has the character we are looking for in our US Attorney General. He is either of such low character that porn does not bother him or he is such a bad attorney that he has to take what ever clients he can get. What ever the case he is not the caliber of man we want as Attorney General. It says a lot about Obama that he would pick someone like that among all the choices that are out there.

  6. No lawyer should be judged by a single one of his clients, however abhorent that client, and Playboy isn’t even that abhorent to begin with. if you ignore the pictures, it does support legitimate journalism.

  7. I’ve never seen pornography, however, I think it’s safe to say that no one looking at Playboy would be ignoring the pictures, in fact, many probably don’t even know there are articles in those magazines.

  8. If that means you’ve never seen Playboy, I think you’d be surprised. Just by living and looking at commercials and movies and TV and such, you will almost certainly have seen as “bad” as Playboy offers. There’s worse on page 3 of many European reputable newspapers. I have no trouble at all imagining someone ignoring the pictures, or at least taking no erotic interest in them, especially since the articles have been known to be of interest even to women.

  9. I have no trouble at all imagining someone ignoring the pictures, or at least taking no erotic interest in them

Sex sells, this is why they use lustful images to attract peoples attention. If the images were of no concern and could be easily ignored they probably would not use them as an advertising strategy.
